when was the last time you played kickball?

elementary school?

yeah, me too.

but we joined an adult kickball league

for the fall season. 

because who doesn't like the idea

of drinking and playing kickball?

plus, it was a way for us to make friends. 

it was a great time.
and we made some great friends.



but we lost.

a lot.




and in the end
we weren't as bad
as we thought we were.

i took the plunge. 

i started an 

ice cream & sunshine

facebook page.

so nervous.

i actually started it in august. 

(i was bored.)

but i was too nervous

to publish it.

so i waited. 

and then i got bored at work

and decided to publish it. 

perfection be damned. 

i'm still not 100 percent sure

why one needs a blog,

a facebook page,

an instagram,

pinterest,

tumblr,

etc.

but now i've got all of those.

basically, i own social media.

now i just have to wait for the 

followers and adoring fans

and i will be set.

because i'm pretty sure

those people who blog for living

have it made.

and i want to be one of them.

bad.

2012 -- week 49 -- we ate a lot of tacos.

a mexican beach vacation

we had a plan.

it was detailed

and involved.

and mildly researched.

and it fell apart. 

we were going to go on a 10 day road trip

from arizona to san francisco and back, 

hitting up cool places like

death valley

yosemite

bishop

big sur

lake tahoe

los angeles

but three days before we were about to leave

we watched the weather -- 

"predicted:

over the next week

three huge storms are going to converge

on the sierra nevada mountains.

driving will be extremely dangerous

and is not advised."

awesome.

what a disaster.

so we rolled with the punches;

and decided to go to the beach instead.

such a good decision. 

al pastor tacos.

the best food in the world.

we ate them 5 of the 7 nights we were there.

fatties.

las islas marietas:

national wildlife and bird refuge

 

we saw dolphins and whales.

 

 and of course, 

my trips to the beach

are never complete without

my dead series.

   

and skulls.
